GIRLS BASKETBALL

Six champions will be crowned on Championship Saturday (February 18) as the State girls basketball tournaments unfold this weekend in the Treasure Valley.

5A

First round pairings of the 5A Tourney at The Idaho Center in Nampa have Vallivue meeting Lewiston, Highland of Pocatello facing Eagle, Coeur d'Alene meeting Meridian and Centennial of Meridian taking on Rocky Mountain of Meridian.

4A

First round pairings for the 4A Tourney at Timberline High School in Boise have Wood River opening against Century of Pocatello, defending champion Middleton squaring off against Madison of Rexburg, Moscow facing Skyview of Nampa and Rigby taking on Bishop Kelly of Boise.

3A

First round action from the 3A Tourney at Middleton High School have Salmon facing Timberlake, Weiser taking on Snake River, Filer meeting Marsh Valley and Priest River squaring off against Fruitland.

2A

The 2A Tourney at Kuna High School has first round action between Melba and North Fremont, Kamiah and Malad, Soda Sprits and Butte County and Declo and Nampa Christian.

1A Division I

First round pairings at the 1A Division I Tourney at Columbia High School in Nampa have Liberty Charter facing Lapwai, Grace taking on Troy, Prairie meeting Glenns Ferry and Hagerman and Notus going against each other.

1A Division II

First round pairings of the 1A Division II Tourney at Nampa High School have Tri-Valley opening against Carey, Summit Academy meeting North Gem, Mackay facing Richfield, and defending champion Dietrich taking on Clark Fork.

BOYS BASKETBALL

District tournaments are under way in all six classifications, as teams vie for State tourney berths. The Real Dairy Shootout, boys’ version is March 1-3 at six sites in the Treasure Valley, with Championship Saturday March 3 in the Idaho Center in Nampa. Look for next month's issue as we highlight the winners.

WRESTLING

District wrestling tournaments are set for this week at the four different classifications, as schools try to advance as many wrestlers as possible to the State Wrestling Championships February 24-25 in Holt Arena in Pocatello. Next month's issue will have the state winners.
